On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan, an international conference was held in Baku under the theme: “Modern Trends in Ensuring the Supremacy of the Constitution through Constitutional Justice”.

The conference brought together representatives of constitutional courts, supreme judicial authorities, other jurisdictional institutions, international organizations, and academic communities from more than 11 countries.

Participants exchanged views on the global development of constitutional justice, mechanisms for ensuring constitutional supremacy, and safeguarding the constitutional rights and freedoms of citizens. 

The delegation of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan, headed by Chairman Mirza-Ulugbek Abdusalomov took part in the esteemed forum.

In his address, the Chairman of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan highlighted the constitutional reform processes underway in Uzbekistan, elaborated on the content and significance of the new version of the Constitution, and emphasized the importance of ensuring human rights protection, the direct effect of constitutional norms, and strengthening the independence of the judiciary. 

The international platform provided an opportunity for the Constitutional Court of Uzbekistan to expand international legal cooperation, exchange experience in the field of constitutional review, and align the national system with international standards.

At the conclusion of the conference, participants agreed on the need to strengthen cooperation in the field of constitutional justice, deepen scientific and practical dialogue, and coordinate efforts to ensure the effective supremacy of constitutional norms in practice.
